Ohio is
better off losing traveling gambling dollars
than hosting casinos
Here’s why:
1) Ohioans know
gambling is a rip-off. The house always wins.
2) Put the
traveling gambling revenue in perspective.
Ohioans lose $2 billion per year to the Lottery
and $1 billion to out of state casinos. That’s
$3 billion lost to the real economy. More
casinos will create greater losses.
3) If casino
gambling comes to Ohio, it cannot and will not
be limited to one site. Legal challenges will
force Ohio to open multiple casino operations.
4) Commercial
casinos, racetrack casinos and Tribal casinos
will surely follow draining billions more from
the local Ohio economy costing real jobs and
hurting Ohio companies and families.
5) Building
casinos in Ohio will not stop traveling gamblers
from spending dollars outside Ohio. No law can
force gamblers to stay inside Ohio. Opening more
casinos will only drain more dollars from the
Ohio economy.
6) New casinos
will create new Ohio gambling addicts - ruining
more lives and families.
